Preparing Control Panels for Downloading
Each of the following control panels requires some programming before the DLS-2
software can communicate with them. Program the listed options at a keypad connected
to the control panel you want to download to.
DSC8400 Communicator - Version 2.3L
Make note of the Downloading Access Code programmed in Section [23] and the
Digital Communicator Identification Code programmed in Section [24]. These values
must be entered into the account. Make sure that the Digital Communicator Identifier
Code is not the same as the Identifier Codes in other work files.
To Have the Computer Call the Control Panel
1.
Set the Number of Rings Before Answering in
Section [25]
. Enable
downloading by turning
ON Light [1]
in
Section [10]
. If an answering
machine is connected to the same line as the DSC8400, turn
ON Light [3]
in
Section [10]
to enable the answering machine override feature.
2.
You can enable the Callback feature by turning
ON Light [2]
in
Section [10]
,
if you require this security feature. If you enable this feature, you must also
program the telephone number of the downloading computer in
Section
[22]
.
To Have the Control Panel Call the Computer
1.
If the system is to periodically call the downloading computer, turn
ON Light
[4]
in
Section [10]
to enable periodic downloading.
2.
When using this feature, a downloading telephone number must be
programmed in
Section [22]
.
3.
A time for the periodic download must be programmed in
Section [13]
. The
interval, in days, for the periodic downloading may also be programmed in
Section [13]
.
