13. If the DSC MD12 is the selected modem then one of the following baud
rate options can be selected:

Always use 1200 – When this option is selected, all communications to
panels that support DSCs proprietary 1200 baud format will be done at
1200 baud.

Auto Detect – When this option is selected, all communications to panels
that support DSCs proprietary 1200 baud format will be started at 1200
baud. If the telephone line is determined to be unsuitable for 1200 baud,
DLS will automatically switch the baud rate down to 300 baud until the end
of the call.
NOTE: Only DSC MD12 modems with software version 1.1 and later support Baud
Rate Selection. Modems with software versions 1.0 and earlier will always operate
at 300 baud. If you are not sure which version MD-12 you have, you can use the
Diagnose.exe program to determine the modem version. Go to the "Run" dialog
box in Windows and browse to the directory where DLS-2 is installed. Select and
run the program diagnose.exe.

Advanced modem support options for user-defined modem configurations
can be entered in this window.

15. If you are using the ‘SPEAKER.DRV’ utility to control your system sounds
in Windows, you must have the Interrupts Enabled option selected.
Click "Save" to save the changes or click "Cancel" to cancel changes. The
modem will be re-initialized with the new modem settings.
